For a sneak peek into the future, take Highway 89 to the Granite Dells Parkway exit. The parkway goes only a few hundred yards before ending. But from the end of the road you can see bulldozers moving dirt around – the beginnings of “The Dells” subdivision.

Crews have started work on installation of underground utilities too for the 1,100-acre residential development that will have 250 acres of open space with hiking trails.

“Every inch of the Dells vision fuses sustainable and ecologically sensible materials with master craftsmanship to create an environment where nature and neighborhood come together,” said Mike Fann, president of Fann Contracting, and the site’s developer/owner. “Enthusiasts of Prescott’s natural beauty and four-season climate will find the man-made combination of wood, stone and glass a breathtaking complement to what nature has graciously given us.”

The Dells is expected to open in July. The first phase is planned for 200 residential units.

Private walking trails will link to the Peavine Trail. Plans include a clubhouse, pool and other amenities for social and recreational enjoyment for the community’s residents and guests.

“Installation of the water, electrical, natural gas and communications services is an exciting step,” Fann said.
